The firm has gained national recognition for projects in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the New York City region, metropolitan Washington D.C., Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Hamilton County, Ohio. Vision 2000, a pioneering project in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is credited with stimulating over a billion dollars in development projects in that community. Recently, Imagine New York: Giving Voice to the People's Visions, one of the largest public participation efforts to help plan the redevelopment of the World Trade Center and Lower Manhattan, was awarded the 2003 American Vision Award by the American Planning Association. Nearly 4,000 people from three states contributed to 250 Imagine New York workshops and 25 charrettes over four months.

Founded in 1968, Beyer Blinder Belle is comprised of 150 highly skilled architects, planners, preservationists, and support personnel. FXFOWLE is a twenty-seven year old architectural, interior design, planning, and urban design firm with a single office located in New York City. The work of the firm has been consistently recognized by local, national, and international design excellence awards and feature articles in the most prestigious design publications.

The firm structure is built around five design studios, each of which is directed by a principal. The practice encompasses corporate, civic, cultural, educational, transportation, residential, office, retail, and mixed-use projects on a variety of scales. The studios are monitored and assisted by an internal support network of specialists in architectural, interior, and sustainable design, management, technology, and CADD operations.

The firm’s extensive experience with both master planning and development projects includes a specialty in transit-oriented redevelopment and the repositioning of underutilized sites and amenities. The firm is a key part of a Nassau County Hub Major Investment Study, examining the opportunities for the development of enhanced public transportation in the heart of the County. Other recent projects include an open space plan for Greenpoint and Williamsburg, Brooklyn; the repositioning of the former Pitney Bowes plant in Stamford, Connecticut’s South End; and a redevelopment plan for downtown New Rochelle, New York. The firm’s entry for the Boston Society of Architects Density Competition, Gloucester Green, won the competition and was selected as “Best in Show” at Greenbuild 2004, the US Green Building Council’s annual expo.

In 2000, Jambhekar Strauss merged with FXFOWLE, bringing extensive public and private planning experience. Jambhekar Strauss completed the design and planning of the Buffalo Inner Harbor Project for the Empire State Development Corporation, created a revitalization plan for 200-acres of industrial property along Glen Cove Creek for the City of Glen Cove, and were the design advisors to Colgate on the redevelopment of the residential properties in Jersey City. Additionally, Jambhekar Strauss worked with Avalon Properties to provide master planning services for their successful development efforts in New Rochelle, and were the planners and architects for the SOS section of the Hudson Bergen Light Rail Transit.

Ernest Hutton, principal, was trained as an architect and city planner and has over thirty years' experience with large-scale projects in both urban and developing areas.

The firm represents experience with a variety of clients in the public, private, and civic/ not-for-profit sectors. This experience gives a unique perspective in defining and negotiating workable solutions in each aspect of the planning/ development process-- from initial site and project feasibility analysis to design alternatives, phasing and impact evaluation.
A special emphasis of the firm is coordinating stakeholder and community involvement, using a variety of interactive techniques including, workshops, charrettes and focus groups.

A hallmark of the firm's approach is collaboration with a variety of related disciplines such as real estate market research, heritage tourism, economic and financial analysis, landscape design, architecture, and theatre/ museum experience. Based on this professional network, Hutton Associates assembles and coordinates targeted teams that respond to specific client needs.

The Turner Miller Group (TMG) is the result of a recent merge of two established firms: Stuart Turner & Associates and Eastern Land Use Analysis. TMG provides a wide range of services from land use planning to environmental consulting to assisting with the development planning and approval process.
